FAQ
- 1. What are Oxygen Absorbers?
An oxygen absorber is a small packet of material used to prolong the shelf life of food. They are used in food packaging to prevent food colour change, to stop oils in foods from becoming rancid, and also retard the growth of oxygen-using aerobic microorganisms such as fungi.
- 2. How do I use Oxygen Absorbers?
Instructions:
1) Prepare your goods for packaging.
2) Open heat sealed bag of Oxygen Absorbers.
3) Use all Oxygen Absorbers immediately by placing them into your packages and sealing.
4) If there are any leftover Oxygen Absorbers, seal back into original bag immediately.
*Warning, Oxygen Absorbers do put off heat while absorbing oxygen. - 3. Could you tell me the best way to store the Oxygen Absorbers that I don't use right a way?
The best way to store unused Oxygen Absorbers would be to heat seal them back into the original bag they came in. If you don't have a way to do this, put them into a zipper seal bag and put that bag into a Mason Jar with an air tight lid (the one with a rubber liner). Do not let them sit out after original bag is opened, place them into the storage container asap.
